Never ‘Swipe up’ on Instagram(?) again

From August 30th, the swipe-up function in Instagram stories will disappear. The platform has been testing with a sticker instead of the good old Instagram swipe-up in recent months and has more confidence in the alternative. What exactly will change?

The change itself is not that big, there will be no completely new layout and it will not take hours of training to master the new method. The only thing that changes is that the swipe-up function of Instagram disappears and you can now share your links via a sticker. What this means for the followers is that they can now also respond to messages with a link. With the swipe-up on Instagram this was not possible, after all it was in place of the reaction field.

Followers have more opportunity to interact

Although the test also ran on accounts with less than 10,000 followers, the link sticker will only be available on accounts that could previously use the swipe-up function.
