In Belgium too, there are specific rules for political advertising, which are partly in line with European regulations, but also have some national specificities:

Ban period : in Belgium there is a so-called ‘ban period’ that starts three to four months before the elections. During this period, politicians are not allowed to advertise on television or radio and are not allowed to hand out free goods.
